anyway, i need to study for geog so i'm posting the stupid agriculture notes here for my own PERSONAL REFERENCE. please do not refer to it. as it might be wrong.(:
Characteristics of agriculture:-purpose of the farm-for own comsumption or commercial purposes
-Inputs into the farm-how much effort was put inside
-Outputs of the farm-what is produced

Purpose of the farm- Own comsumption, also know as subsistence farming. Sell their produce on the market, also known as commercial farming.
-Inputs into the farm- Farmers need land, labour seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, machiner for crops, and some use irrigation. To get these materials, capital is needed. Capital is money to pay workers or to buy materials.
-Outputs of the farm- Output per unit for subsistence farmers(usually enough for farmers' own families)= small outputsOutput per unit for commercial farmers(Large quantities for sale)= large outputs
-Agriculture types:
-Shifting cultivation
-Wet rice cultivation
-Plantation agriculture
-High tech farming

--> Shifting cultivation/Slash and burn
A type of farming where people temporaily clear forests to grow crops. After 2-3 years, the farmers will leave and find another land to clear.
Process-1. The trees are cut down2. Burn felled trees.-main point is to get rid of the felled trees, and also to get fertilizer from the ashes.
3. Holes are made in the ground to plant the seeds.
4. Crops are harvested.
5. Afer a few years, the tribe leave the field and look for another plot of land, and may return 20-30 years later.
--PIVOT--
-Purpose- Grow enough to feed families. Subsistence.
-Input- Large area of land, low capital- simple tools used like sticks, sickles. Seeds are reused from the previous harvest.
-Variety- Small varirety of crops. Eg. Dryland rice, tapioca, bananas, maize.
-Output- Low outputs, only enough for their families.
-Technology- Low technology, simple tools are used. Extensive

--> Wet rice cultivation
-Most rice grown are wet rice
-Hot climate in some countries are good for rice cultivation, as rice need high temperatures to grow.
Process:
1.Fields are ploughed with animals and machinery, and flooded with water channelled from rivers and lakes.
2.Seeds are scattered in a smaller field called a nursery, where they sprout into seedlings.
3.3 to 4 weeks later, seedlings are transplanted to the flooded fields.
4.After 3 to 6 months, fields are drained and padis harvested.
--PIVOT--
-Purpose- Both subsistence and commercial.
-Input- Small land is need for subsistence, large area for commercial. Low capital for subsistence, high capital for commercial.
-Variety- Many varieties of wet rice developed.
-Output- Output is very high
-Technology- Low for subsistence(usually animals and family labour), and high for commercial(Usually tractors)Intensive for subsistence extensivefor commercial.

-Grown to be sold, commercial use.

they were there again when i went to swim in the pool
i mean i was walking home and deciding that i wanted to swim when i saw them.
they were walking to our direction.
our lobby!
they picked up their towel
and were about 50 steps away from our lobby gate.
but i freaked out anyway.
cause he remembered me.
so i rushed into the house...
then i was like looking through the peephole..
and i thought it'd be fun to on-off the outside lights like we used to.
to freak them out. like the previous freaked-out person.
so i on the lights. they were looking at each other.
and i offed. still not response.
and i on
and off
and on
and off
and on
and then i got fed up and on-off the switch really quickly.
still not response
they went into the lift and i thought that they WOULD see the lights.
but NOOOO.
they had to NOT SEE THE LIGHT!!
cause the guy cornered the woman,
and i saw r-rated stuff
so i gave up
and left.
so anyway i was in the pool and i was jumping around to make big splashes and then i got scolded by some woman.
and then guess who i saw~!!!!!~
all dressed up and changed and ready to go out was....
OUR R-RATED ACTRESS & ACTOR!!
like so fast bathe already is it??!!
not bad.
and then it got boring.. and yah. so BYE.

... And then mrs Ong was giving a talk about not talking bad about them and it made me wonder about bullet and pms... but i don't know. is there anything bad about them here? honestly i don't see any
sorry pms and bullet if you read these but an advice to pms is not to pms all the time cause you're always pms when you are not supposed to or maybe sometimes u really are pmsing but then again it doesn't make a lot of a difference cause you are always pmsing all the time. and to bullet... i don't know. bullet's really fun. :D
Whoa. this morning i woke up at EIGHT?!? because i heard this really loud sound at the corner of my room. i guess its upstairs but it was really freaky and then my bed shook a little too. i woke up cause of that sound... and then i slept for another four hours.
i haven't done any homework yet. i mean, ITS THE WEEKEND!! why waste it on homework. i was ready to get my homework out the minute i came home and then i thought, what, homework?! on a friday? can always do on a weekend what. then the other voice in my head went: errr you're gonna spend a lot of time in church during the weekend... you might not have enough time to finish them up. i was wondering about it for some time, then i fell asleep. i still have the following homework:
-Science, chapter 25- transport in living things. (normally i wouldn't bother and copy down the answers, but i figured i have been paying attention the past lessons)
-Family night soveniour- due on friday
-Chinese zuo wen- due on monday, about my hoilday. is it? i'm not sure
So now i realise that i really should have started on my homework on friday. cause when i woke up we went to watch ice age 3!! it was so funny.. it didn't have any story line but it was good.. they stole some jokes from other comedies though. it was basically about the group finding about the dinosaur world living in a place like a jungle under the ice..

today is fourth of july but so what we're not in america and recently got a lot of things going on
family night is cancelled, i was looking forward to it but not the performance. i've been going for the practice things for the four times that they asked me to and i left early. each time i come back i get a new partner. its quite frustrating but who cares. not you. we stil have to make the sovenir and its counted a lot.
pms psmed again and she sent me out of class with melisa. she told us to do the homework during the holidays not to THINK about it i thought about it already what and i told her my idea and she said no and since i already started working its not like i want to do a second piece too and so she said i can't draw cartoon and what else i said i didn't have anything else (duh) and she made me go outside the class wow it was really interesting idea pms thanks for rejecting it and melisa was also there so at least i have company and pms sent melanie outside the other door but she didn't send the rest out cause maybe JUST MAYBE she hates me. yeah why didn't i see that coming
i just went swimming just now and i was walking towards the pool with my sister and we saw these two disgusting ppl in the pool and they were hanky panky- ing and were gross and the guy was eying me as i walked past like what are you staring at kind of look sort of like a glare then he turned back to the woman so i told my sis to splash them. and my sister and i took like three steps to the pool and jumped in together near the couple and the water splashed all over them and the guy was quite angry and all but then good thing they broke apart and the man went to the chair there and lit a cigarette and started smoking and it really stinked and i spent about 10 mins in the pool but got nausea cause of the smell of the strong chlorine and the smoke smell together and i went to bathe and then i sat on the sofa doing the sovenir thing and the smoke smell is so strong i can still smell it from here i mean why do you wanna smoke its totally killing your health, no offence smokers, but it rots your teeth and ppl generally keep away from you cause of the breath and even if you take breath mints its still stays on your clothes and to sum it all up EW. it aint no cool
then bullet thought that i kept blaming her and she said that i keep putting words into my mouth and in actual fact she made the claims . ):
